WHO WE ARE
LiberGlobal was founded ten years ago by a Director of Maplecroft Global Intelligence. A call from a BBC journalist filming in the Western Sahara came in requesting urgent help. He had interviewed several Sahrawi refugees. They were subsequently arrested, detained and tortured in Rabat Prison, Morocco - accused of breaching the strict Sovereign Law rules on speaking out against the King or regime. They were facing unlawful execution and had been on hunger strike for several days. Liber Human Rights was formed on the spot to successfully free the prisoners of conscience.
